I am an expert in designing and programming distributed backend systems with experience in common architectures like microservices and cell-based architectures. I have experience writing applications that can scale to support more traffic without requiring rearchitecting to do so. I have performed zero-downtime migrations on systems that serve millions of requests every day.
I have been writing backend systems professionally since 2022, beginning with on-premises datacenters. In 2025 I transitioned to working on global cloud deployments. I strive to create software that is scalable, maintainable, testable and documented. I enjoy working cross-functionally and I believe communication is key to shipping quality software.
My ideal role is a position that allows me to meet with product owners/stakeholders to understand their needs, then work with my team to architect, design and implement a software solution. It puts me at a table with other engineers where we talk about the approach we want to take and how our components will integrate with one another. It enables me to learn from subject matter experts and my team members. It provides me with the resources to grow my abilities as a software engineer, and gives me the opportunity to mentor other engineers.
I am interested in roles that are user privacy-oriented or environmentally beneficial. We each have limited time and I believe that we should be working to make the world meaningfully better for each other.
